FPE Works with Owner’s Team to Transform 40 Worth Street

After multiple city agencies vacated entire floors of 40 Worth Street, FPE was retained to design a renovation plan to appeal to a variety of creative downtown commercial ventures including web designers, lighting and industrial designers, and not for profit companies. To date the scope of work includes 100,000 square feet of floor area over 3 floors, with most of the tenant spaces custom designed from a pre-built kit of parts and finishes with an industrial aesthetic. Public spaces being renovated include elevator vestibules, corridors, and core bathrooms.

FPE Rejuvenates Public Space at Sutton Place Synagogue

Sutton Place Synagogue, located in east midtown Manhattan has completed the renovation and upgrade to its multi-purpose function space. Fifield Piaker Elman Architects were retained to design the project and oversee the construction. The dated and underutilized space is now once again extremely popular with congregants to use as a catering and event space for various life cycle events such as wedding and bar/bat mitzvah receptions.  During the day, the space is used as an informal play area for the pre-school, and any new finishes had to be durable enough to withstand vigorous use. Although adjacent to a catering kitchen, the space was shunned by congregants for private events and parties due to its tire and dated appearance. The scope of work included completely new contemporary finishes for the flooring, wall paneling and ceiling. The completed space is rapidly being booked for a variety of private events by the congregants to enjoy and celebrate.
